Seosamh Ó hÉanaí (1919–1984), from Carna, Connemara. One of the greatest sean-nós singers of the twentieth century. Collected and performed hundreds of songs in Irish and English, carrying the unaccompanied singing tradition of Connaught wherever he went — Carna, Glasgow, London, New York, Seattle.
